We celebrated Boom Boom's birthday with a huge bash...Veronica, Daddy, Mommy & Boom Boom ate dinner at Captain D's and then came home for cake and presents. We really did have fun, and Boom Boom got some nice gifts: an amethyst necklace from Veronica and a Chinese import teacup and saucer from Mommy & Daddy. Happy Birthday, Boom Boom!

Veronica's Princess Party
Veronica had a "royal" ball at her 4th birthday party. Lots of her friends and famiy attended and enjoyed an afternoon of dancing, making necklaces, painting fingenails, making sugar cube castles, creating paper bag crowns, coloring princess pictures, and playing Pass the Poisoned Apple. Her royal menu included Jasmine's Jelly Sandwiches, Cinderella's Cheese Chunks, Ariel's Goldfish Crackers, Belle's Bugles, Sleeping Beauty's Chocolate Kisses, Snow White's Apple Slices, King Triton's Under the Sea Punch and Princess Cake and Ice Cream. Everyone had a great time, and we hated to see the party end. Thanks to everyone who came to the party, and thanks for your sweet birthday presents. And a special thanks to cousins Chloe and Alex for Veronica's Belle dress.

Christmas 2007

What a wild December! Daddy was rushed to the ER with symptoms of a heart attack. He ended up having gallbladder surgery, and after a few nights stay in the hospital, he's now back home. With work so busy this time of year and with Daddy's hospital stay, we did not have time to mail Christmas cards...for the first time in 11 years. So for 2007, we're using our blog as an online Christmas card.
Santa was good to us this year. Veronica asked him for makeup, and he delivered. One of the pics is of Veronica wearing her new lipstick (with a little chocolate on the side). She also got a new kitchen from Mommy and Daddy, and she has become quite a little chef.
To all our family and friends and to everyone everywhere...
MERRY BELATED CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Fancy Nancy
Veronica dressed up for her recent trip to Kroger (or as she calls it, "Krogert"). We passed by one little girl in another cart who couldn't keep her eyes off Veronica's outfit. When you look this good, people notice!
More fun Veronica-isms...
Sindabrella (Cinderella)
Nay soup (bathing suit)
Nay brush (hair brush)
Chockers (checkers...applies to chess, too)
Gimme huuug! (Give me a hug!)
Mmm! Alicious! (Mmm! Delicious!)
Crayawn (crown)
Red rang (red ring) (She's wearing it in the picture above.)
Warshee (Where is she?)
(Veronica asks this when she's looking for ANYTHING...doesn't have to be female.)

"The Deathly Hallows" Party
Veronica had a blast at the Harry Potter book party. She was sorted into Hufflepuff, worked hard on a Harry Potter word scramble, and enjoyed showing off her scars (one on her forehead and one on her hand). Her favorite snack of the night was a candy cockroach that looked a little too much like a real one. The party lasted from 9:00 pm till midnight, but after two full hours of fun, she was ready to hit the hay. Daddy took her home while Mommy stayed to get the book at 12:01 am.
(I'm sure you've noticed that Veronica is wearing the exact same outfit in the last three posts. She does actually own other clothes. This just happens to be a freak coincidence. I guess you can call it her official Harry Potter outfit!)

Wild About Harry!

Veronica saw the new Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," this afternoon with Mommy & Daddy. The movie was long, and she squirmed a little, but she really did enjoy herself and the large box of Jr. Mints. Since Veronica is wild about Harry (she has all the movies and books so far), it was no surprise. Even her new puppy had a good time.
Some Harry Potter "Veronica-isms" include...
"Harry Potter Baby" (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)
"Harry Potter Snake" (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets)
"Harry Potter Dancin'" (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire)
"Harry Potter & the Phoenix" (Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix)
"Harry Potter Penglin" (The Harry Potter preview at the beginning of "Happy Feet")
She doesn't have a special name for any of the others just yet, but she still watches the movies every chance she gets, and the last book we read at bedtime has to be a Harry Potter book. Like I said, she's a fan!

Famous "Veronica-isms"
Veronica started a new trend at church...wearing two different shoes usually on the wrong feet. Her buddy, Jayley, loves the style, and I even caught the nursery director, Nanny Dorcas, wearing a white shoe and a black shoe one Sunday in honor of Veronica. But like every trend, once people start copying you, you move on and start new trends. It's been two weeks since Veronica has worn two different shoes, so I'm glad I got these pictures when I did.
More of my favorite Veronica-isms include...
"Dora Ispora" (Dora the Explorer)
"Clues Clues" (Blue's Clues)
"Nastics" (Gymnastics)
"Krogert" (Kroger)
"Mal-Mart" (Wal-Mart)
"G'side" (Go outside)
"Icka Mouse" (Mickey Mouse)
"Ekasize" (Exercise)
"See See Song class" (Kindermusik class)
"A preckle" (A freckle)
"Dee Lee Dee" (DVD)
"Hirtday party" (Birthday party)
"Han on" (Light on)
"I can't breach it!" (I can't reach it!)
"G'bed" (Go to bed)
"G'side" (Go outside)
"Charlotte's Wet" (Charlotte's Web)
"Poot" (Winnie the Pooh)

VBS Program
Here Veronica sings her heart out at this year's VBS program. At one point in the preschooler portion, Veronica kept getting bumped by her classmates, and she kept shooting them evil looks. I think Veronica, like us all, was just tired and hungry after a long week. Luckily, we got to have lunch with all our new VBS friends and their families after the big show, and the sustenance (which for Veronica consisted mostly of chips and cookies) boosted her mood.

Chism Reunion
Tonight we went to Grecian Steak House for the Chism family reunion. We met lots of family we didn't know, and Veronica made some new friends. Don't let Ron's expression sum up our evening...we really did have a good time. Besides, you'd look like that, too, if you'd just ate 16 oz of steak plus the rest of Veronica's chicken strips.
